About PharmAlliance
1. What is PharmAlliance?
PharmAlliance is a strategic partnership between three global leaders: UNC Eshelman School of Pharmacy at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Monash University Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, and UCL School of Pharmacy at University College London.
PharmAlliance provides a community platform for working together on big ideas and solutions that will improve human health around the world. This partnership is for faculty, staff, and students who want to improve global healthcare through innovation in pharmacy education, research, practice and student collaboration through outreach & engagement.
2. Who are the core partner of PharmAlliance?
The founding partners of PharmAlliance are:

3. What are the PharmAlliance Domains?
PharmAlliance’s initiatives are mainly organized into 4 Domains: Research, Education, Outreach ‘N’ Engagement (ONE), and Student. Each Domain has chairs and deputy chairs representing each of our institutions and being the conduit for collaboration, exchange of knowledge and resources, and advocating for their fellow educators, researchers, practitioners, and learners.
4. What makes PharmAlliance unique?
PharmAlliance brings together three top-ranked institutions in pharmacy and pharmaceutical sciences to foster innovation across education, research, and practice through outreach and engagement at a global scale. It provides a community platform for faculty, staff, and students to collaborate on big ideas and solutions that improve human health worldwide. With a long-term commitment to partnership and integrated initiatives, PharmAlliance is a distinctive model for international collaboration focused on advancing global healthcare through innovation and outreach.
Involvement & Collaboration
5. I am a part of the three core institutions and would like to be part of PharmAlliance. Is there a membership to get involved?
Congratulations! If you belong to one of the three core institutions, you are already a part of PharmAlliance! There is no special membership pathway – PharmAlliance is for ALL. You should be able to access a full range of opportunities, network, and resources using your institutional log-in!
There are several opportunities for you to get even more involved such as participating in an event, presenting during or attending PharmAlliance Week, contributing to a collaborative research or educational initiative, exchanging skills and tools with partner colleagues, applying for a grant, applying for a PharmAlliance leadership position, and so much more!
6. Can institutions or individuals outside of the three core universities participate?
Yes. While the core partnership is between UNC, Monash, and UCL, PharmAlliance welcomes collaboration with external institutions, organizations, and individuals through specific initiatives, events, or strategic partnering.
Although, grant funding is presently only available to partner institution collaborators. There may be opportunities to collaborate in other capacities as listed above. Please contact our PharmAlliance Program Coordinator, Sophia Mortha for more information.
7. Is PharmAlliance open to industry, NGO, or government partnerships?
Yes. While the core partnership is between UNC, Monash, and UCL, PharmAlliance welcomes collaboration with external institutions, organizations, and individuals through specific initiatives, events, or strategic partnering.

8. How can I find other collaborators in PharmAlliance?
Try using our database on the Members page to search for the field you are interested in. Once you find a match you can then contact the person directly. Sign in is required to access this page.
9. Are there opportunities for students to engage?
Yes. The Student Domain represents both graduate and professional students across each institution. The Student Domain is also comprised of student leaders that plan year-round events and initiatives to engage students across the partnership. Some of these programs have included pen pal programs, international case or infographic competitions, Weebly blog posts, medication safety awareness campaigns, jeopardy sessions, Graduate Research E-Symposia and more! Programming
10. What are some regular programs/events/initiatives that PharmAlliance offers?
PharmAlliance provides various opportunities for networking and collaboration. We also offer various seminars throughout the year that members of the core institution can attend such as our Communication Tools and Tactics series, Artificial Intelligence (AI) Skills Seminars, Listening Sessions, Early Career Researcher (ECR) Showcases, Graduate Research E-Symposiums, and more.
PharmAlliance also has an annually held conference known as PharmAlliance Week where researchers, educators, and learners can gather at one of the three institutions which rotates yearly. The purpose is to disseminate and share outcomes from our collaborations and to create opportunities to connect and plan new initiatives.
